Construction has continued throughout the summer on The Station – some of the exterior doors are now in and all kinds of trim is being put up, a very time-consuming job. Our next big push is the electrical infrastructure and the kitchen so we can begin using it.
The volunteer cabin provided a restful place with a wonderful view for some of our volunteers after a hard day’s work. We are grateful to have that space for them rather than being housed in rooms that we are now able to offer guests in order to allow more of them to come each week. We are currently working on the landscaping and front deck. The kitchen cabinets should be installed in the next couple of weeks and the wood stove is ready for installation.
A generous donation towards new housing for the summer staff and Rowing Club has us working on designs and permits in order to have the housing in place for next summer. Please pray that we will be able to get approval, for the best designs to meet our ongoing needs, and for people to help when we are ready to put those in place. We are planning to go with modular units that will be moved in and put together in order for this to happen in the short amount of time we have with all the other aspects of construction underway so pray also for wisdom in which company to use and for favor in getting the best price possible.
