This weekend is open to all adults—married or single.  The focus of this retreat is to spend time seeking God’s presence through prayer and reflection.

Barnabas Landing is a quiet spot on Keats Island with inspiring views, comfortable rooms and enjoyable meals.

A typical weekend has four sessions with the guest speaker.  There is free time on Saturday afternoon to enjoy a walk through the woods or soak in the hot tub.

This weekend will give you the chance to quiet your heart and renew your soul.

Prayer Comes Alive ~ Transformational Encounters with Jesus

Following in the footsteps of Rob des Cotes and Dan Heavenor, this weekend will provide helpful, practical perspectives on prayer that move us from thinking about God to truly relating to Him, experiencing Him, and being changed by Him.  Based on Psalm 23, the Lord’s Prayer, and picturing ourselves with Jesus in the Gospel stories, our sessions will explore different kinds of prayer (Centering Prayer, Directed Prayer, Imaginative Prayer, etc.) with spacious opportunities to practice on your own with support from our facilitators, if desired.  By sharing emotion and experience with Jesus, prayer can leap from a daily habit to a powerful transformative encounter.   Barnabas is a great place to get away from the distractions of everyday life and connect with God’s grace and love in a deeper, expanded walk.  Encounter Jesus again!

Mark and Petra are full-time professional Coaches and Spiritual Directors to leaders in the Marketplace and in Ministry.  They have offered pastoral leadership together for over 25 years, most recently serving for 17 years as the Pastoral Team of Marineview Chapel in Vancouver. Mark and Petra love walking with people to help them notice where and how God is at work in their lives. Formerly an engineer and a teacher, their specialty is helping people hear God in the midst of a busy life. Mark and Petra live in Vancouver and have two grown and married daughters.  Contemplatives who engage life fully, they love hiking, travel, and all kinds of boating.

Registration for this retreat begins Jan. 4th.

Online Registration Begins: January 4, 2018 at 9:00 am Pacific Time.
