The Pearl of Great Value
Many of us like searching for great values, but imagine - in that search - stumbling upon something so beautiful and perfect that nothing else could compare. Matthew 13:45-46 indicates that "the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant looking for fine pearls [and] when he found one of great value, he went away and sold everything he had and bought it." Over this weekend together we will explore what it means to be women who have the pearl of great value; and how knowing and believing this will impact everything about who we are and how we live.
Sharon loves her family, has a heart for healthy organizations, and is passionate about her relationship with Jesus and his work in the world. She describes her season of life as one where everything is converging – who she is, her age, passion, education and experience – all coming together for a more dedicated focus of building up the body of Christ and equipping God’s people for works of service.
Her life experience includes raising four children, founding and developing a charitable organization for families with children who have special needs, working with a church staff team in ministry development and discipleship, and consulting with leaders, boards and teams to clarify their purpose, function and direction. Sharon currently works with Arrow Leadership, directing programs for leaders to be led more by Jesus, to lead more like Jesus and to lead more to Jesus.
Sharon and her husband, Gord, have been married 31 years and support one another in personal, family, ministry, and vocational pursuits. Gord and Sharon enjoy this season of life with their young adult children who are all in their 20’s: Matt and his wife Kathleen, Krista, Scott, and Jason. When Sharon’s not mentoring, teaching, writing and facilitating, you will likely find her reading, walking, playing the piano, spending time with her family or providing hospitality in their home.
