Position Duration: May – August (4 month position)
Responsible to the Property Director
Responsibilities:
- Manage, under the supervision of our offsite horticulturalist, the maintenance (planting, weeding, watering) of a vegetable garden and some smaller plots
- Water, deadhead, and weed flowers prior to one-week volunteer arrivals, then assist them as needed during the summer
- Communicate daily with the kitchen staff as to timing and availability of produce and then deliver cleaned produce to the kitchen
- Maintain good records of all produce supplied for future reference and for required government reports in order for us to keep our farm status
- Farming: daily care of animals
- Assist with maintenance projects if time permits
- Contribute to and assist in the summer staff community life
Honorarium: $4500 (before deductions)
